You play as a Amnesiac in the game. Named Wol (but for some reason you could change its named all you like) and play throughout the game.

Mobius Final Fantasy 3

The battle system displaying the player character’s health and energy, the ability icons, and the elements accumulating in the bar in the top of the screen. The enemy’s health and break meter are displayed above it.The ability icon can be changed, based on your job and the skill.
You can also change, for example you start of as an onion knight but you can change it to ranger or an apprentice mage. You can upgrade your job, for example you can upgrade your Apprentice Mage job as a Mage and White Mage next.
