Pixel Dungeon has been one of the most popular Rogue like RPG on the Google Play Store. It is free for download and has been going strong since its released. Roguelike is a subgenre of role-playing video games characterized by a dungeon crawl through procedurally generated game levels, turn-based game play, tile-based graphics, and permanent death of the player-character, meaning that if your character is done for. Then you need to start over.
The goal of Pixel Dungeon is to beat the lowest floor boss and then comeback to the top stairs to win. You might think that it is a very easy things to do, but when you actually do it. It’s not. It really is not. You will get killed by fire and then got an achievement for it. Killed by a rat, then got an achievement for it. Killed by poison and then got achievement for it, and so on.
You start of choosing your character jobs. Either going for a warrior which has a lot of strength that can be useful for equipping bunch of item at the start. A Mage, which is useful for a long ranged attack by using his wand, a Thief that is pretty nimble and could go around quickly or just a simple hunter that uses arrow and stuff.
After Picking your job you will see 5 button beside your character and maps. The clock is useful when you wanted to skip a turn. Lens for finding and searching for something. The Question mark is for examining things, bag is for bag. And the last one, arrow is for throwing at the enemies. You can also change the last one by holding it and changing the selected items.
Gameplay
Start go around the floor, searching for stairs and killing enemies. But beware of traps. Traps can be hidden or not. Which is why the lens is useful for it. But of course you need to be hurry in finding the stairs. There is a hunger point needed to be watched out for. If you take too long in one floor. You will need to eat a ration / food stored inside your bag. The ration can be found 1 in almost every single floor. Which is why, beside finding a stairs you also need to find a food source too.
There are many things that can be done and be explored in the games. There are also a quest, Blacksmith and many things. For a free games like this, it is pretty amazing. Definitely one of the top games on google play.
