A stand alone app for Facebook’s notifications

Last October, Facebook has launched Facebook Events for iOS. Facebook Events is a stand alone app for Facebook’s notifications. Now, Android user can also get it on Google Play. Facebook Events came to Android last December 13th. Users could download and install the stand alone app for free.

The new launched app has purpose to declutter user’s main app’s notifications. You can see the dates of your Facebook events and imported calendar. Moreover, there are aggregates wall posts and alert from events available.

Keep its users stay up to date

Furthermore, it helps us know that something happen nearby. We can see it on interactive map. Also, it has filter based on time and event category. Hence, this app will keep its users stay up to date.

Where are those information come from?

Facebook Events collects its events data from your Facebook friend. In fact, you can get notifications of events from pages that you and your friends have liked. You could browse through events that are recommended based on your location too.

Promote better means for extroverts and events promoters to discover nearby events

Aditya Koolwal, the produck manager of Facebook Events, gave his statement. He said, “The core thesis behind this app is that if we built something for the people really eager to discover events, people will have a good time.” He said that when the app was launched last October for iOS.

The main intention of Facebook to release this app is to promote better means for extroverts and events promoters to discover nearby events. This explain why it was launched on Android even though it is not popular in iOS.
