The LG Watch Urbane commitment to luxury and premium appearance but is betting on the potential of Android Wear. LG has just launched a few hours ago their new venture in the field of smart watches and we have surprised everyone with their LG Watch Urbane. At first glance, the Watch Urbane looks refined and stylized version of the LG G Watch R. retains its same circular 1.3-inch screen format, as well as those frames that were also prominent in the earlier version. However, this time the company has decided to equip your clock look more premium look and say that your box is made entirely of stainless steel.

Unlike the G Watch R, here you can choose between a gold or silver version, which will be accompanied by a strap 22mm leather. Of course, there had to be a false traditional crown on his right side, which will serve as the button to activate the screen. This is how LG returns to position midway between the technology of a smartwatch and appearance of a conventional clock.

Inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, the same that is included in the G Watch R, and a number of conventional sensors such as heart rate monitor, accelerometer or gyroscope. However, it incorporates a barometric pressure sensor could be accompanied by specific new apps to take advantage. Here is a summary of the main specifications we leave:

  • 3-inch OLED screen with 320 x 320 pixel resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 400 to 1.2 GHz
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • Battery 410 mAh
  • OS Android Wear
  • Sensors: heart rate, barometer, gyroscope, accelerometer and compass
  • Certification IP67 waterproof and dust
  • Colours: gold and silver

LG wants to build wearables who dress and look like everyday accessories, no electronic devices. Of course, the LG Watch Urbane returns to bet on Android Wear as a traveling companion, a tendency of being away other companies like Samsung. The CEO explained that this new smartwatch is an important part of its strategy to develop wearables who dress and look like everyday accessories, not as electronic devices.

Some of us expected that next smartwatch LG was the mysterious model shown at CES in Las Vegas last, but it seems that more than one model is underway for this year. The rest of the details on this Watch Urbane be unveiled at MWC 2015 in Barcelona to be attending as accredited media. What do you think the new LG?
