Asus ZenWatch Review: A Great Android Smartwatch
One in particular, Asus, is hoping to attract consumers with its attractive ZenWatch – one of the most recent entries in the Android Wear space. Asus is no stranger to meticulous designs – they took great pride in being careful when creating their products. With that in mind, it is not at all surprising to find Asus ZenWatch are getting the same level of premium craft we see in some of its high-end products. Quite simply, the ZenWatch is arguably the best-looking Android Wear Smartwatch at the time.
We can certainly say that the design is clean, that does not have any buttons, crowns, or anything else to engage with its smooth lines. In fact, the only things that break your project are found at the bottom of ZenWatch – they include pin connections, screws and a single power button. We know it is something that is common among Smartwatches, but the charging process also requires us to use the proprietary charging cradle included. It would have been sweet to see this get the same wireless charging treatment as the Moto 360.
As for the band itself, is a good addition with genuine leather materials stitched, but the closing juts out to the point that sometimes can be picked up or attached to clothing. Fortunately, it uses the bracelet 22 mm standards, which makes it incredibly easy to remove and replace it with another. The style is certainly abundant with this one, but we cannot forget that the ZenWatch has an IP55 rating for water resistance, which is good at protecting it from minor spills and whatnot, but do not expect to dive under the water with him on the wrist
Smartwatches in general have this distinction to look a little tetchy, like those yesterday calculator watches (and still today), but look like new, elegant Asus ZenWatch raises to rival some of today’s sophisticated watches. We do have some complaints about its design, and somehow takes away the crown Moto 360 to be the best-looking Smartwatch Android Wear yet. Throw in its manageable size in the mix as well and certainly has the potential to appeal to men and women who want to make a fashion statement.
Asus ZenWatch not try to overtake their rivals at the time, seeing that he sports a 1.63-inch 320 x 320 AMOLED display – similar to the display used by Samsung Gear Live. Protected with Corning Gorilla Glass curve 3, it matches the subtle outline of the box to give you a finish without even seam. Trying to view things is not a problem thanks to its density pixel count of 278 ppi, so it is able to read the time, notifications, messages, and more easily.
