The company has launched LG Watch Urbane LTE in South Korea with the possibility of including a SIM itself, making it independent of the cell. LG has put a price on his new smart watch that does not need a phone to call home.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE has been launched in South Korea at a price of US $ 589. The device can make and receive phone calls, send and accept text messages, make calls push-to-talk with other phones on the same network and to make mobile payments via Near Field Communication.

In terms of specs, the LG Watch Urbane LTE is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 400; comes with a 1.3-inch LED screen and a battery of 700mAh. LG is also promoting the metal body clock, which is resistant to corrosion and scratches.

When might this new watch available in the United States and generally out of South Korea? LG said it still has not been determined, according to The Korea Herald, and that a global launch will depend on the level of acceptance in the Asian country.

A brother watch, called LG Watch Urbane itself is scheduled to USA and will be sold by AT & T. But unlike its counterpart LTE, this model is a more traditional clock that still need a smart phone to make and receive phone calls. LG did not immediately respond to CNET’s request for comment.
