Apple Watch Gains a New Design Award Without Having Reached the Market
Apple Watch Wins Red Dot Design Award in the category of watches with the designation “Best of the Best”. It is unusual that a product resulting award before it officially hits the market, but with the Apple Watch the story is just repeated a second time. If a few months ago we reported that the Apple Watch had won the prestigious design award iF Design Gold awarded by the International Forum Design, Red Dot now who has granted this merit to smartwatch.
Red Dot Awards are held annually in Germany and have a wide range of categories including, surprisingly, still no watch were. Now, with the increasing rise of smartwatch, the organization has decided to include for the first time clocks between categories of awards and Apple Watch has been the undisputed winner.
Apple Watch has achieved the designation “Best of the Best” in its category, an achievement of which we are sure will be very happy Jony Ive and his design team. The Red Dot jury took into account different aspects such as functionality, durability, resistance and even “the emotional and symbolic content” along with other criteria.
With all this on the table, the jury considered that is by far the best design smartwatch the market, but has not yet reached him. In total, about 4,928 products have been inspected by the jury and only 81 of them have managed to obtain the “Best of the Best” award. The gala will take place on June 29 in Essen, Germany, where the winners of each category will receive their awards. Apple will attend the event?
