Although Samsung already has 6 different models on the market SmartWatch, the Korean company is still to present his new device that will compete directly with Apple Watch. By now, we know many details about his life, as it will adopt the circular format, will arrive in autumn this year and could be called Gear A.
However, one of the most interesting rumors appeared to date pointed to a new method of interaction that Samsung introduced alongside new SmartWatch, and would build nothing less than a rotating bezel that allow us to control the various system options. Relatively speaking, the company would have sought to create their own Digital Corona not rely solely on traditional touch screen and physical buttons.
Now, SamMobile have agreed to new documents detailing in more depth the operation of the rotating bezel when we drove by the system. Apparently, the user interface will be based primarily in landslides and touches, but will feature rotating bezel to control functions and navigate between different screens.
For example, rotating the bezel we can make a list scroll, zoom into a picture or change the volume level, all depending on the context. The primary objective would pursue this new method of interaction would avoid touching the screen too much, something that often is inconvenient because we cover virtually the entire content displayed. My main concern about this system is the effectiveness of a circular interface, because as we can see in the different catches, the content is “cut” in a bad way when it comes to lists or images, a problem not found in the Apple Watch.
The Samsung SmartWatch will have a circular screen of 1.65 inches with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels
Samsung recently announced as the new SDK developers for its new round SmartWatch, which apparently is a modified version of Tizen with a flatter and design adapted to the new format. On the other hand, the documents also revealed that the device will have a circular screen of 1.65 inches and a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels with a density of 303 PPI, slightly higher than that of other similar smartwatch market.
As read in WatchAware, it is expected to incorporate Gear rumored as various sensors as usual, heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope, pressure sensor, among others. Undoubtedly, we are keen to know what can come out of this interesting idea. What do you think about it? Are you convinced a priori the proposal of Samsung?
