Talk about a wearable device or smartwatch, Omate probably never crossed your mind. This name was less popular than Apple Watch, Samsung Gear S, or even Pebble. But who would have thought if smartwatch from Omate, The TrueSmart have success starting from Kickstarter. Now apparently Omate has prepared a new version.

Interestingly, smartwatch called Omate TrueSmart + is not running Android Wear, but the full version of Android 5.1 Lollipop with OUI Omate 3.0 software overlay. It is said if you will be able to run the full version of Android at this smartwatch.

As for hardware, TrueSmart + will be equipped with 1.54-inch TFT LCD display with 320×320 resolution, a 1GHz MediaTek MT6572M processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of on-board storage and a 700mAh battery. In addition the device is also accompanied BHI160 Bosch sensor for lower power consumption, especially for always-on applications such as fitness tracking and step counting.

That makes it more interesting is that it can be used as a standalone watch. TrueSmart + can use a micro SIM card in any compatible GSM network. This means you can answer phone calls, replying to text messages and many others without having to connect to a smartphone.

Besides TrueSmart +, Omate also launched smartwatch that called TrueSmart-i. Smartwatch is equipped with 1,54 inch display, 240×240 resolution, 5MP camera with 720p video recording, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Both smartwatch can be ordered through pre-order directly on the Omate website start from September 22 to 31 October. TrueSmart + priced at $ 169 and will be delivered in November. While TrueSmart-i is offered for $ 149 and are ready to send in October.
