Nixon Mission The Most Waterproof Smartwatch (Up to 100 Meters Depth) !
Nixon, the watches and accessories company from California just announced a super-rugged smartwatch, the Nixon Mission. It is designed for a surfer, snowboarder or other outdoor activity enthusiasts. To support the hobby of surfing and snowboarding, This Watch supported Surfline, SnoCountry and Trace apps.
Nixon Mission can be paired with a smartphone via Bluetooth connectivity. Thanks to the support Surfline, SnoCountry and Trace, it can display real-time information from a variety of surf and snowboard conditions around the world. The Smartwatch runs on Android Wear. It became the first smartwatch based on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. Compared to the previous generation, the Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset has 30% smaller size and 25% less power consumption.
The Smartwatch made of polycarbonate and stainless stell with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and plated Gorilla Glass technology. The other features, it uses 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and supported by a variety of sensors such as thermometer, altimeter, gyrometer and accelerometer. It also features GPS and e-compas. Nixon claimed Mission smartwatch can offer a battery life of up to a day on a single charge.
Interestingly, Nixon claimed Mission is the most waterproof smartwatch. The smartwatch supported waterproof features to a depth of 100 meters. For comparison, smartwatch Casio WSD-F10 features supported only waterproof to a depth of 50 meters.
Nixon has not announced availability schedule of Mission smartwatch. However you can expect it would be circulated in 2016. On price, the smartwatch will be released on the market for $ 400.
