Selfie phenomenon has become very popular. The phenomenon has become a side effect of the advanced technology development and a modern society.

Some individuals or groups with narcissistic appeal made himself a photographer to present themselves. Then capture the moment and share the photos.

Selfie has become a habit of today’s society, from the young to the old. We’re all accustomed to doing selfie.

According to historical records, selfie photos has existed since 1839, it was photography was first invented. So, who is the first person to perform a (phenomenon) selfie photo?

He is Robert Cornelius, a chemist and pioneer in photography from the United States. Robert produce a picture of himself in 1839, we read in reports from The Vintage News, Tuesday (03/15/2016).

October 1839 at the age of 30 years, Cornelius first took a portrait picture of himself. Robert did selfie photograph in his family’s silversmith shop in the city of Philadelphia.

The resulting image is a portrait in the center of the image (off-center) with his arms crossed, coiffure tilt and tangled. The result of Cornelius shots known as photographic portraits of the oldest man in the US.

After Cornelius scored his first selfie photo, he wrote down a quote ‘the first light picture ever taken: 1839.

Since then, he became a well-known figure on the Daguerreotype. It is a method or process for creating photo that was first published in the world.

Then Cornelius began operating the first photography studio in the US in 1841 and 1843. It began as a forerunner to the growing popularity of photography.

Robert Cornelius was born on March 1, 1809 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania U.S, and died on August 10, 1893 at the age of 84 years in Frankford, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania U.S
