Embark on a grand adventure as a spell-casting hero in this chill-out action & simulation game. Build a town and train your allies to prepare them for tough battles, in which you’ll be right there at the front line, legendary magic rod in hand.
At once, peaceful town was suddenly raided by monsters, and the kingdom’s precious orb, which granted it good fortune, was stolen. The town fell into ruin…
Then, a fearless magician appeared before the king, and offered help. But it wasn’t going to be easy!
Will the town be restored to its former glory? It’s up to you, young mage!
Magician Saga is another Kairosoft games. Although most of others Kairosoft games emphasize on simulation games, The Magician Saga emphasize more on its RPG genre. In this game, you play as a novice magician in a peaceful town that had been raided by a monster. Your jobs is to rescue all the villager or townie that had been kidnapped by the evil monster (The typical RPG plot)
Gameplay
The gameplay is actually very simple and unlike other RPG genre games, this one has its own feel to it. You start of in a town, and like any other Kairosoft games. It doesn’t give you any tutorial or anything. It just gives you a general gist of the games. Then swipe your screen to the left and go to the plains.
Notice in the screen above, you will see an arrow, fire, water, and thunder symbol. The arrow is self explanatory, or if you don’t know, it is how you move around. You can’t move left or right in this games. Just forward and backward.
The fire, water, and thunder are the element of the spell that you can hit the enemies with. Each enemy has their own attribute, and each attribute has their own weakness. Fire to water, water to thunder, and thunder to fire. The damage that is given when hit by the enemies weakness is twice your original attack damage. So be sure to keep that in mind.
Unlike any other RPG games, you don’t need to tap to use the spell. You just need to tap the symbol, and then your character will charge up the spell and automatically hit the enemies. Each hit will decrease your MP, but don’t worry while walking, you will replenish your HP and MP.
While walking, you will also automatically pick up the exp or item that is drop by the monster or is found while adventuring. You will also automatically rescue all the villager that is help captives by the monster. Just be sure to complete the stages.
There are also a boss monster in each stages, but they aren’t that OP or something so it is manageable. After defeating the boss monster, you will be able to complete the stages by going through the big treasure chest.
You could also build a building in the village, to increase your status, buy bunch of equipment, and recruit heroes.
The game is actually pretty fun. It is a perfect time waster. It is a new game, so it is not perfect. Hopefully the Kairosoft company will continue to update the game. Anyway, thank you for reading and have a nice day!
