Onmyoji Arena Tips and Tricks – Guide to Play Yamausagi, The Frog Rider

Based on the review of Onmyoji Arena, today, we are going to give you a review about a character on the game called Yamausagi.

Yamausagi itself is a really cheap shikigami that you can get by simply using your coin. She is only 888 gold, and is one of the most annoying support ever. She can give someone a shield, give them a bonus movement speed, slow the enemies, and can even render the enemies useless.

You guys don’t know how much i hate this stupid Frog rider as my enemies, but as a team she is a really easy shikigami to be use even by a beginner and can deal a massive pain in the ass to so the enemies.

Her skill set are:

Game Preparation

Item

1. Tsukuyomi Do (Main Item)
Now, as a support that mainly use her skill to help the allies Mana is very important.
By using Tsukuyomi Do, Yamausagi will be able to use more skill because of its 20% CD
And Her skill will have a less MP consumption. Besides, you will also be able to tank more damage.
Which is why this is her number 1 item.
2. Hagakure Boots (Can be change with Boots of Purity.)
Most of the damage that will be taken from the enemies will be Basic attack, for skill attack.
She has shield that if time right, it will half the damage. You can also use Boots of Purity for more skill use.
3. Lavish Red Robe (Main Item)
Now, you got an Armor equipment from Tsukuyomi Do, what you need next is a Magic resist item.
Besides this equipment will be able to give magic resist to your allies, enabling you to give them support by simply staying close.
4. Marsh Moon (Great Item!)
Now, most people might not be content with this item, but honestly this is one of the best item for Yamausagi.
Your second skill has low CD, and it can slow to boot. With this item, your enemies will have a hard time to run away.
It is one of the best item for Yamausagi and i strongly suggest you guys to take it
5. Tales Of Izumo (Great Item!)
Most might be confused, why use a magic item for support. Well, you might not know this, but Yamausagi Skill will be buffed a lot by using this item. If you use tank item, Yamausagi won’t contribute that much aside from slow, and buff.

However, if you got Tales of izumo, you can actually do so much more.
You see, slow, shield and so on will be buffed by this item. You will give more shield to your allies.
Plus your first skill attack will hurt. So you can even kill the enemies by yourself if you play it smart.

6. Yata No Kagami (Main Item, If you are using Subdue)
This is one of the nice item for Yama usagi, but you can always change it to some other item like Shicimen Tennyo.
but for me, this item will give my Yamausagi more health which enable her to take more damage and survive more fight.

Onmyodo

For Onmyodo, i recommend you to use this set. Ability power to give more damage by using the skill + you will be able to give more shield in the early game. Soul ward, as you know yamausagi third skill gives shield in area. Umbrela shield for more magic resist and armor that is pretty useful in the late game. And lastly Sorcery Protection, to give your allies shield if they are ganked. This is a really useful spell.

Skill Combination

Yamausagi is a support shikigami, that excel in supporting the enemies. Which is why i recommend you to take:
Skill 2 Slow Spit, Skill 1 (Passive) Quick Boost, and Skill 3 (Shield). Distribute evenly between the 3, but if you want to annoy the enemies, then focus on Skill 2  Slow Spit, and then distribute evenly on Skill 1 Passive and Skill 3 (Shield). Take ultimate whenever available.

Yamausagi got everything that you want in a support, slow, speed buff, and then she is one of the most annoying crowd control ever, mainly because of her second skill slow spit, added with her passive where everytime she use her skill, she will give a movement speed boost to her allies in radius. It means that if Yamausagi wants to save someone, then she will save someone.

The thing is however, because she is a support that mainly use her skill to be annoying. She needs a lot of MP. Thankfully, you can get Mandala Sutra or Tsukuyomi do to help with her MP.

In early game, Yamausagi will usually be in the bottom lane, helping her teams marksman, mage or samurai getting fat. That is your task in the early game. Let your DPS get fat, and then save them if they are being chased.

In the late game, your job is to annoy the heck out of your enemies. Stick with your fat team mates and follow them around while getting the kill and assist. Your goal is to slow the enemies down and change them into a puppet by using your ultimate. Give your allies a shield for that juicy movement speed boost, and they won’t even complain when you get the kill.

Now, what i need to remind you, your ultimate can change the flow of the game. You must think and aim before using it. The ideal time to use it is in the middle of the war or when your team tank is on the battle. Target the enemy shikigami DPS to render them useless, 9/10 if they are changed into a puppet they will run away.

Of course, your allies and you won’t stand still. Target and lock the enemies and kill them. The other scenario is to help your teams in running away, when they are being chased. It is easier said than done, but it is not impossible.

If you are on the losing team, simply go in the tower and spam your second skill. It will not only annoy your enemies, but will also makes them target you, by doing so. You can act as a bait so that your allies can kill the opponents.

So there you have it, another Onmyoji Arena guide.

Anyway, here is the guide for Yamausagi. I hope that you guys will be fine with it and hopefully it had answer some of your question regarding the shikigami.
