Butterfly effect is a chaos theory. The butterfly effect is the sensitive dependence on initial conditions in which a small change in one state of a deterministic nonlinear system can result in large differences in a later state. This effect grants the power to cause a hurricane in China to a butterfly flapping its wings in New Mexico. It may take a very long time, but the connection is real. If the butterfly had not flapped its wings at just the right point in space/time, the hurricane would not have happened.

The easiest example that you can get is where the choices that you make will somehow affect not only you, but also your surrounding. The butterfly effect theory is often used on any game backstory. One of those game are Lapse 2: Before Zero.

Lapse 2 is a game of choice. It is an official prequel to the favorite Lapse: A Forgotten Future. Which means that in some way you are able to successfully save the world with your quest from the previous sequel.

Now, your goal is to travel from the future world, to the ancient time, and then make the same choice as the previous game. Like the previous game, you are tasked to manage four categories that will determine your ending. From Religious the Ankh symbol, people the human symbol, military force the sword symbol, and money the dollar sign.

The objective of the game is to manage all of the four symbol within normal limits. It can’t be too high or too low, because you will be death if i do so. All of the symbol will be determine by your ability to make a choice, whether or not it is a bad choice or a good choice will determine the 4 symbol going up and down. Do note that each decision that you make will affect the game. So think and read first before making the choice.

Overall, the game is a pretty good game. A great time killer, that can be played anywhere.
