Finally, it is official! WhatsApp finally get its own dark mode. WhatsApp dark mode has been teased since late 2019 and the developers finally released the feature in their official app on both android and iOS devices.

The dark mode feature is proven to reduce battery consumption and reduce the eye strain with less light on your eyes making it easier to look at — and it generally looks better IMO. In their blog post, WhatsApp announces dark mode feature and the Facebook-owned company calls it “the most requested feature from users everywhere”.

If you want to use the feature, you will need to open up your WhatsApp and find the setting section. Afterward, head to Chats > Theme > and select “Dark” to activate it. For Android 10 user, however, the user will need to head to system settings, and activate the system-wide dark mode overall.

Once activated, the interface will change from the usual white into dark background. Aside from that, the other functionality of the app remains the same without any problem. If you are interested in the WhatsApp dark mode, please update your WhatsApp device now on your app store.
