Apple is Slashing Production of the iPhone SE 2022 by 20%.

The iPhone SE was announced earlier this month and is now available, but it appears that Apple did not believe that sales of the phone would be as strong as they had been previously. According to rumours in Asia, Apple told several of their suppliers that they will be smarter in production after selling 2-3 million units of their phones in the second week of this year, between April and June.

This means that the number of iPhone SEs released in 2022 will be 20% lower than in previous years. One of the foreign media outlets, Nikkei Asia, reported that this was due to global inflation caused by the war in Ukraine, which reduced consumer electronics demand. Apple is also known to have reduced AirPods production to more than 10 million units in 2022, which is due to a lack of demand for earphones and a desire to reduce inventory so that they don’t have too many in warehouses.

According to research, Apple sold 76.8 million AirPods last year, and with this reduction in production, overall product shipments in 2022 will decline. Also reportedly, Due to fluctuating demand, Apple has also ordered suppliers to reduce supply of the 2 million iPhone 13s that were originally planned.
