The Google Pixel 6 duo still doesn’t have face unlock even 1/2 year after its initial launch. From some existing rumours, Google wants to implement facial recognition for its smartphone, but due to a heavy deadline, finally released the flagship smartphone without this feature.

Even so, one of the leading developers on the XDADevs online forum found evidence of Face Unlock on the Pixel 6 series using Android 12 Quarterly Platform Release (QPR) 3 Beta. This evidence indirectly reveals that Google is developing or will develop Face Unlock for the Pixel 6 in the future, with a software update, but it is not known exactly when.

There are several possibilities that can be obtained in the future,  which is Google will test this feature in the future on Pixel 6 phones. Based on previous evidence, it was found that Face Unlock on Pixel 6 used too much power during facial recognition, so Google ended up removing the feature entirely.
