WhatsApp Will Soon Remove Support for iOS 10 and 11!

WhatsApp is reported to be dropping support for select iOS devices. According to the firm, the software will no longer function on iPhones running iOS 10 and iOS 11 beginning this year. According to WABetaInfo, the company has informed iOS 10 and iOS 11 customers that they must update their iPhones by October 24 in order to continue using WhatsApp.

WhatsApp warns those who are still using iOS 10/11

“Update the latest version of iOS to continue using WhatsApp – WhatsApp will stop supporting this version of iOS after 24 Oct 2022. Please go to Settings> General, then tap Software Update to ge the latest iOS version.”

Here’s a list of iPhone phones that can’t use WhatsApp after October 24:

  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 5c

The aforementioned two iPhones will no longer be able to use WhatsApp after the latest update in late October. Those with an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, or iPhone 6s do not need to be concerned because iOS 12 is still supported by WhatsApp.

In the WhatsApp Help Center, the company had also updated that iOS 12 or later is required to use the application. Android users must have OS 4.1 or later in order to use the messenger.
