This Popular Android Application turns out to be an Adware Virus

One of the most popular PDF Readers on the Google Play Store turned out to be an adware virus. An investigation from Malwarebyte revealed that the PDF reader – documents viewer app is an application that turns out to be providing advertisements to its users.

The security company has also revealed that this app has been downloaded by more than 1 million downloads, and Google itself has not removed it. On a blog explaining the scam that the app is running on android, Malwarebytes revealed that the app is deceiving users by not showing ads directly after it’s installed.

Uninstall The Android Application to remove the adware virus

The app will wait a few hours after the app is installed, and so the user doesn’t know what app is causing the problem. When activated, the application will show ads on the homescreen, and block the user from accessing the device until the user finally presses the ad. Video ads will also be shown to players and prevent users from accessing your device, and ads will be even more annoying when the app is not uninstalled.

So, if you have downloaded ‘PDF Reader – Documents viewer app‘, uninstall it right away!
