If you are running the Android beta, you can now try a new Status feature being tested by WhatsApp. Users can now use the new “Voice Note” feature in WhatsApp Status. Users can use this feature to publish short speech messages in their status instead of creating a video to interact with their contacts.

According to WABetaInfo, which has already been able to test this new function, these voice messages can be up to 30 seconds long. The release date for this new feature is unknown and will be determined by the outcomes of the beta test. If you can already utilize this feature in beta, it will look like this:

WhatsApp also provides more control over voice recordings. As already known, voice notes can only be recorded for a maximum of 30 seconds. And to hear voice notes published through status, users have to update their WhatsApp version.

As usual, end-to-end encryption ensures that only the people you choose in your privacy settings can hear the voice notes published as a status update. Voice notes shared through status updates disappear after 24 hours, just like photos and videos, although users always have the option to delete the voice note for everyone after it is available as a status update.

This feature is going to be updated for some users in both android and iOS.
