WatchOS 10 and What You Need to Know!

Exciting changes are on the horizon for Apple Watch users with the highly anticipated watchOS 10 update. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg reveals that this update will bring a “fairly extensive upgrade” to the watchOS operating system, introducing notable changes and a major interface overhaul. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from watchOS 10 and what you need to know!

WatchOS 10 Comes with Revamped Interface and Widgets

watchOS 10 will introduce significant changes to the interface, with a particular focus on widgets. Apple plans to reintroduce a new widget system similar to the beloved “Glances” view from earlier watchOS versions. Widgets will provide quick, interactive access to essential information directly on the Apple Watch, eliminating the need to open individual apps.

The current icon-based app grid may also undergo a transformation. Rumors suggest that Apple could completely revamp the app grid layout, potentially making it easier to navigate and incorporating app folders for improved organization.

Enhanced Watch Faces and Third-Party Support

Apple may introduce design changes to built-in apps, although specifics are not yet confirmed. However, if Gurman’s claims are accurate, watchOS 10 could bring updates to watch faces as well. Currently, Apple does not allow third-party creation of watch faces, but there’s hope that this long-desired feature might finally become a reality with watchOS 10.

Widgets will play a crucial role in the interface overhaul, with an interface reminiscent of the Siri watch face. Users will be able to swipe through a stack of widgets for activities such as weather, stocks, calendar appointments, and more, providing quick access to relevant information without the need to open individual apps. It is even rumored that pressing the Digital Crown may open the widgets interface instead of the Home screen.

When will Watch OS Launch Date

watchOS 10 will be compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later, just like its predecessor, watchOS 9. Excitingly, Apple will unveil the OS during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is set to take place on June 5. Following the keynote event, developers will gain access to the beta later the same day. Public beta testers can expect to get their hands on the update sometime in the summer. Finally, it will be officially released alongside new Apple Watch models in the fall.

As the launch of the OS approaches, anticipation builds for the substantial interface improvements, the introduction of widgets, and the possibility of third-party watch face support. Stay tuned for further updates and get ready to elevate your Apple Watch experience with watchOS 10.
