The upcoming Xiaomi 14 is set to receive several upgrades, according to recent leaks. The phone’s overall appearance will reportedly remain the same, but it will feature some significant improvements. Digital Chat Station, a well-known leakster, recently revealed that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
The new generation is expected to offer up to 1TB of storage, which is a significant increase from the 512GB offered in the Xiaomi 13. Additionally, the vanilla Xiaomi 14 is rumored to come with a 4,860mAh battery and 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, which is an improvement from the 4,500mAh battery and 67/50W charging in the Xiaomi 13.
Schematics of the phone show a design similar to its predecessor, with a square camera island in the top left corner. However, the island will now be divided between four sensors, instead of three. The main camera will reportedly feature a larger sensor than its predecessor, with a 50MP 1/1.28″ sensor, up from the 50MP 1/1.49″ sensor in the Xiaomi 13. It will be accompanied by a “medium-telephoto” camera, which is expected to offer higher optical magnification than the 3.2x magnification in the Xiaomi 13. There is currently no information available about the fourth sensor.
Xiaomi usually release its newest addition with the next Snapdragon chip. Therefore, we can expect the Xiaomi 14 and its variants, including the Pro and Ultra models, to be released later this year. While we’re still months away from its release, the leaks and rumors surrounding the Xiaomi 14 are certainly generating excitement among tech enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated smartphone release.
