The tech world is buzzing with excitement as evidence of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A05 begins to surface. With multiple model numbers making their appearance, including SM-A055F and SM-A055M, along with dual SIM variants of these models, it’s clear that Samsung has something remarkable in store for us. Among these, the SM-A055F variant has been making its rounds on Geekbench 6, giving us a glimpse of its potential performance.

What truly sets the Samsung Galaxy A05 apart is the beating heart within – the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset (MT6769V/CZ). In comparison to its predecessor, the Galaxy A04 which utilized the Helio P35, this chipset marks a significant upgrade. Both chipsets are built on the 12nm process, yet the G85 emerges as the winner with its impressive configuration.

While both chips boast commendable specifications, the G85 takes the lead with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, accompanied by six A55 cores running at 1.8GHz. In stark contrast, the P35 featured eight Cortex-A53 cores. This configuration not only results in doubled single-threaded performance but also boosts multi-threaded test outcomes. Notably, the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU on the G85 showcases more than a twofold improvement compared to the PowerVR GE8320 GPU seen on the P35.

Delving into the performance aspect, a Geekbench 6.1.0 scorecard reveals that the particular Samsung Galaxy A05 unit was equipped with 4GB of RAM. While this is a commendable amount for its category, it’s worth noting that the Galaxy A04 featured versions with 3GB and 4GB of RAM. What’s truly noteworthy about this configuration is its capacity to smoothly run a full-powered Android experience, specifically version 13 in this case. This signifies a leap from the Go Edition, offering users an enhanced and more robust Android environment.

Though official information about the Galaxy A05 is yet to surface, given the precedent set by its predecessors – the Galaxy A04 and A04s – which were both unveiled in late August, combined with the ongoing certification processes, it’s only a matter of time before Samsung takes the wraps off its latest innovation.
