iPhone 15 Series USB-C to C Charging Might Not be Exclusive to Apple Product

The new iPhone 15 series is generating lots of buzz, especially because it might use USB-C instead of the usual Lightning connector. Some good news comes from leakers Majin Bu: the new cables might not be locked down to only Apple stuff. This means you could use third-party cables and things without a problem. Unlike before, where you needed Apple-approved stuff.

iPhone 15 Series USB-C Moves and Charging Updates

Let’s get into the details of the iPhone 15 series. For regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models, the ports might be USB 2.0. Don’t be too impressed – this only means data moves at a speed of 480Mbps, just like the old Lightning port. Charging also won’t be super fast, sticking to 20W.

But Apple wants to make up for this by giving you longer and better USB C-to-C cables with these iPhones. They’ll be 1.6 meters long (that’s around 5.3 feet) and will work with more devices, like iPads and MacBooks.

Now, for the fancier iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, things get even more interesting. They might have super-fast ports, kind of like USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 (20Gbps) or Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps). These ports can move data really quickly. They might also charge faster, up to 35W, and come with bigger batteries. All this is like a cherry on top for people who really use their phones a lot.

So, get ready for the iPhone 15 lineup. Some parts are cool for giving more choices, some parts might not be as fast as we hoped, but the Pro models look like they’re going to be real powerhouses.
