How to Read the Map?
Alchemy maps might appear perplexing for newcomers to the game, but fear not, we’re here to unravel each element for you:
Whirlpools Identifying whirlpools on the alchemy map is a breeze; they typically resemble spiral marks. Applying the bellows to heat your cauldron sets these whirlpools into motion, and their rotation aligns with the direction of their spirals. If your potion marker intersects with a whirlpool, you’ll notice the whirlpool lines darken. This causes your potion marker to gravitate toward the whirlpool’s center. Whirlpools prove quite useful, especially in minimizing ingredient consumption, effectively altering your potion’s trajectory.
Potion Marker This marker signifies the position of your potion bottle along the potion path. It dynamically changes as your potion advances through different tiers like I, II, and III. Additionally, the marker alters its color to reflect the effect generated when you concoct a potion.
Effect Marker Effect markers pinpoint specific effects on the alchemy map. For instance, a heart denotes the healing effect, while a snowflake symbolizes frost. Initially, these effect markers appear as question marks, a sign that you haven’t yet incorporated that particular effect. Once you’ve infused the effect into your potion using the bellows, the question mark transforms into the effect’s designated symbol.
Experience Books Keep an eye out for brown circles on the alchemy map. These circles house a collection of books, ranging from one to three. One book grants Minor Experience, two offer Medium Experience, and three bestow Major Experience. When your potion marker encounters one of these circles, it vanishes, and you earn a specific amount of experience.
Bones Coming into contact with bones leads to a gradual depletion of your potion’s liquid. If the liquid entirely diminishes, the process fails, resulting in the loss of your ingredients. Should you encounter bones, swiftly maneuver away to replenish the potion liquid. Upon contact with your potion marker, bones exhibit a shaking motion and increase in thickness.
