In Minecraft, the night brings out some not-so-friendly mobs and one of them is the spider. While they’re not the toughest creatures in the game, they can be a bit tricky, especially in the dark corners of caves. Usually, they stay calm unless provoked, but one clever player decided to turn them into a real nightmare.
New Size Changes to Minecraft Bring a Lot of Horrifying Spider
A Reddit user, PenguinTheOrgalorg, used a new command called “size” to change the spiders in Minecraft. This command lets players adjust the size of any mob, and the player took full advantage of it.
By shrinking a bunch of spiders to scales 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3, and releasing them into a room, they created a truly horrifying scene. The tiny spiders started chasing and attacking like something out of a horror movie, revealing a whole new level of scariness in Minecraft. It’s worth noting that this command doesn’t just work on mobs; players can also use it to change their character’s size.
Community Reaction:
The reaction from players was a mix of amazement and fear. Some jokingly suggested adding a flamethrower to deal with the nightmare-inducing spiders, while others proposed creating a spider’s nest in the Nether.
In the comments, PenguinTheOrgalorg explained that thanks to new Minecraft commands, players can tweak not just the size but also the health, damage, and other attributes of mobs, adding a layer of complexity to the game. Another player pointed out that these commands can make the tiny spiders a real challenge to deal with, turning the game into a bit of a struggle.
The “size” attribute command is part of the latest Minecraft: Java Edition snapshot, 23w51b. Along with introducing new ways to mess with mobs, this update also brought the long-awaited armadillo and wolf armor to the game.
Although Mojang gave players a sneak peek of these features, not everyone was thrilled with the wolf armour, showing that not every addition wins over the Minecraft community as expected.
