WhatsApp is in the process of updating its features, gearing towards the launch of a broader username feature.

Username validation is now available in the beta version of WhatsApp Business for iOS via the TestFlight platform, indicating that this feature is likely to be expanded soon after the testing process is complete.

This username feature is expected to provide significant benefits to users by allowing them to easily provide a username without needing to mention their phone number, similar to Telegram.

However, information regarding this is still limited to those on WaBetaInfo, who provide screenshots of how the platform will validate usernames that are unique.

It’s important to note that only alphanumeric characters are allowed, and each username must be unique.

Nevertheless, this feature is still in development, so there is no certainty as to when it will be available globally. Users will need to be patient and wait for further information regarding the availability of this feature and when it will be officially released.
