A YouTube channel specializing in Minecraft animation called Boranium Art was recently known to be recreating GTA 6 or Grand Theft Auto 6 using Minecraft assets and Unreal Engine. The team previously gained recognition for remarkable rendition of RDR 2 trailer.
In this latest endeavour, Boranium Art has not only recreated the GTA 6 trailer shot-for-shot but has also managed to capture the iconic visual style of Rockstar’s Vice City. From the neon-lit nights to the sun-kissed landscapes, every detail has been meticulously crafted using Minecraft assets. The characters in the recreation bear the distinct Minecraft Story Mode style, adding a unique charm to the video.
Despite speculation that Boranium Art may have recreated parts of the GTA 6 map featured in the trailer, Escobar clarifies that they only built the portions visible in the video. Furthermore, he emphasizes that the project took approximately one-and-a-half months to complete, with assets first constructed in Minecraft and then imported into Unreal Engine 5 for animation.

One of the standout aspects of Boranium Art’s approach is their preference for the Minecraft Story Mode style for characters. According to Escobar, this style aligns well with Minecraft’s simplistic aesthetic, preserving the essence of the game’s visuals. The attention to detail in Boranium Art’s recreation is evident, showcasing a level of craftsmanship that sets it apart from similar projects.
While fans eagerly anticipate the release of GTA 6, which is expected in 2025 for consoles and possibly 2026 for PC, Boranium Art’s recreation offers a tantalizing glimpse into the world of Vice City. As one of many projects inspired by Rockstar’s trailer, it serves as a testament to the creativity and ingenuity of the Minecraft community.
