New Design Details Emerge for iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

In the development process of the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple typically tests several design prototypes before selecting one for mass production. However, information from an anonymous source reveals a rather unique choice for the rear camera design by the tech giant.

One of the options mentioned is a triangular shape resembling an electric shaver, which gained attention after previous reports of testing with a camera bump resembling a fidget spinner.

The latest update on this design change comes from a source referred to as Majin Bu. According to them, after contacting various unnamed sources, it has been revealed that Both phone will not adopt the fidget spinner-like design for the rear camera bump.

Instead, the design will take on a triangular shape. The reason behind this decision, as per the provided information, is to allow for the addition of more cameras or larger-sized sensors on the upcoming flagship.

Furthermore, rumors also suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro will bring an upgrade to the tetraprism telephoto lens, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumored to excel in the main camera category compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro Max. There are reports that these devices will use Sony’s Exmor IMX903, slightly larger than the IMX803 unit, at 1/1.14 inches, and support dual-layer transistor technology.

Although the maximum camera resolution is estimated to remain at 48MP, the larger physical size may have prompted Apple’s design team to change the rear module. However, as known, Apple often tests many prototypes before the official launch, and there’s a possibility that this design is not yet final. Previously, leaked information also mentioned testing of a front-facing punch-hole camera cutout on the iPhone 16, although it’s unclear if this will be adopted.
