Redmi has carved a niche for itself in China, offering powerful phones at competitive prices. Their K series is known for being “flagship killers,” but these haven’t always made it globally. Sometimes, they’re rebranded as Poco phones, but not all K series phones get that treatment.

The upcoming Redmi K80 Pro is next in line, following the K70 Pro launched last year in China. Leaks suggest it’ll pack a punch with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, a super sharp “2K” resolution screen, and a hefty 5,500 mAh battery that supports super-fast 120W wired charging.

Fingerprint technology might also get an upgrade. Rumors suggest the K80 Pro will ditch the optical sensor for a newer ultrasonic scanner, which could be faster and more reliable. This tech is also expected in upcoming phones from Xiaomi and OnePlus.

With all these features, the K80 Pro is shaping up to be a true “flagship killer.” But there might be a catch: a higher price tag compared to its predecessor. We’ll have to wait for more information to confirm this, but it’s something to keep in mind.
