Oppo has recently launched the Oppo A3, a budget-friendly 5G smartphone tailored for the Chinese market. This model follows the earlier release of the A3 Pro but comes with some adjustments to balance performance and affordability.

The Oppo A3 boasts a large 6.67-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. What’s impressive is its 10-bit panel featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling, along with Gorilla Glass 7i for added durability. This display can achieve brightness levels up to 1,200 nits, ensuring vibrant visuals even in bright conditions.

Oppo A3 Specification: Camera, Battery and Design

Under the hood, the Oppo A3 is powered by the Snapdragon 695 chipset, a step down from the Dimensity 7050 used in its Pro counterpart. It comes in configurations of 8GB or 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and offers ample storage options with 256GB or 512GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Additionally, there’s a microSD slot for expanding storage capacity.

For photography enthusiasts, the Oppo A3 features a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 lens, capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. It is complemented by a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera housed within a punch-hole cutout.

Powering the device is a robust 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging via USB-C 2.0 with a VOOC adapter. This setup promises quick refueling times and sufficient battery life for extended usage.

The Oppo A3 sports a sleek profile measuring just 7.15mm thick and weighs 178g, making it lightweight and portable. It offers 5G connectivity with dual-SIM support, along with Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth (aptX HD). However, it lacks NFC and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Availability and Pricing

Currently available for pre-order on Oppo’s online store in China, the Oppo A3 starts at CNY 1,600 for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 12GB RAM variants are priced at CNY 1,800 (256GB) and CNY 2,100 (512GB). It comes in three color options: green, black, and purple, with open sales beginning on July 5.
