Recently, Mithril Interactive announced that Dungeonborne will be completely free-to-play. This change surprised many who initially thought the game would be a paid release. With this shift, the game’s monetization model has also evolved. So, what does this mean for players? Are there microtransactions in Dungeonborne?

Are There Microtransactions in Dungeonborne?

Yes, Dungeonborne does include microtransactions. However, the current options are quite limited. You can purchase a few cosmetic items that don’t impact gameplay. Additionally, there is an option to buy access to the game’s auction house, but only if you want to list items for sale. Anyone can use the auction house to buy items without paying for access.

Dungeonborne Microtransactions

Dungeonborne

As of now, the available microtransactions in Dungeonborne are:

  • Demon Eye Torch
  • Blasphemous Horns
  • Demon Hunter’s Swords
  • Kree War Horn
  • Trendy Beverage
  • Demon Hunter Oil

All these items are cosmetic and do not affect gameplay. Since Dungeonborne is a first-person game, you may not see most of these cosmetics in action except for the Trendy Beverage and Demon Hunter Oil, which change the appearance of your potions.

Additionally, there’s a supporter’s DLC bundle available called the Mithril Satchel, priced at $9.99 on Steam. This bundle includes two cosmetic items and several potions that might give players a slight edge in combat.

Is Dungeonborne Pay to Win?

Currently, Dungeonborne is only slightly pay-to-win. The Mithril Satchel DLC includes:

  • 15 Bandages
  • 15 Healing Potions
  • 3 Throwable Flasks

While the cosmetic items from the Mithril Satchel do not impact gameplay, the included potions can offer a significant advantage. Players with the DLC can heal more often and use throwable flasks that deal damage, which can be useful in both PvE and PvP scenarios.

Overall, while Dungeonborne does have microtransactions, they are mainly focused on cosmetics and optional enhancements rather than creating a pay-to-win environment.
