Fallout: London is a massive fan-made mod for Fallout 4 that transforms the game into the iconic streets of London. This project has taken years to develop, and in this guide, we’ll walk you through how to download and install the mod on both GOG and Steam.

Downloading and Installing Fallout: London on GOG

Using GOG is the easiest way to get the Fallout: London mod. If you don’t already have a GOG account, you can create one for free. Make sure you own Fallout 4 along with all of its DLCs or the Game of the Year edition to play the mod. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Install Fallout 4: First, ensure you have the English version of Fallout 4: GOTY Edition installed through GOG GALAXY. Be sure to disable cloud saves.
  2. Get Fallout: London: Head to the GOG Store and download Fallout: London for free.
  3. Install the Mod: Use GOG GALAXY to install Fallout: London. Once it’s done, launch the game.
  4. Follow Instructions: Just follow the prompts in the launcher to get everything set up.

It’s good to know that the High Resolution Texture Pack for Fallout 4 isn’t necessary for this mod.

Downloading and Installing Fallout: London on Steam

If you have Fallout 4 and all its DLCs on Steam, you can still install the mod, but it requires a few extra steps. You will need the pre-next-gen version of Fallout 4 (version 1.10.163.0). Here’s how to do it:

Using the Downgrader Tool

  1. Download the Downgrader Tool: This tool is provided by the developers of Fallout: London, TeamFOLON. You can find it on their website or in the mod files.
  2. Follow Instructions: Inside the downloaded folder, follow the included instructions to downgrade your Fallout 4 game with just a few clicks.

Manual Downgrade Steps

If you prefer to downgrade manually, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Steam Console: Type steam://open/console in your browser to open the Steam console.

  6. Set App Manifest to Read Only: Find your app manifest file  appmanifest_377160.acf in the Steam apps folder (typically located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps). Go to properties, and check the “Read Only” box which will prevent Steam from updating the game.

Installing Fallout: London Manually or via Mod Manager

Now that you have downgraded your game, you can install Fallout: London manually or through a mod manager:

  1. Find the Mod Files: Locate where GOG downloaded Fallout: London (for example, This PC > SSD (E:) > GOG > Fallout London).
  2. Install F4SE: Inside the Fallout London folder, you’ll find the F4SE (Fallout 4 Script Extender) files. Install it from there or download it from the Silverlock website.
  3. Zip the Data Folder: Zip the Data folder in the Fallout London directory and add it as a mod in your mod manager.
  4. Update .ini Files: It’s recommended to use the .ini files included with the mod. You can replace the .inis in your Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 folder or add them through your mod manager’s ini editor. The .ini files are located in the _Config folder (e.g., This PC > SSD (E:) > GOG > Fallout London > _Config).

With these steps, you should now be ready to explore the vast world of Fallout: London. Enjoy the unique experiences this mod has to offer! Make sure to check back for updates and more gaming tips.
