The Slasher Tower has made its return in Tower Defense Simulator (TDS), available for purchase at 599 Robux for a limited time. Players are now wondering whether it’s worth the investment. In this guide, we’ll explore the Slasher’s stats, strengths, weaknesses, and its role in the game, helping you decide if it’s a good fit for your strategy or not. Let’s get into it!

Slasher Tower Defense Simulator

The Slasher is a melee tower that attacks enemies with a knife, occasionally throwing knives for extra damage. You can place it for just 450 cash, making it available right from the first wave. Its fast attack rate and crowd control abilities make it somewhat effective, especially in the early to mid-game. However, its true potential and usability depend on how well you manage it during gameplay. Here’s a quick rundown of the Slasher’s key stats as it levels up:

  • Base Cost: 450 cash
  • Range: 5 (increases to 6 at Level 2)
  • Damage:
    • Level 0: 3 (normal and throw damage)
    • Level 4: 6 (normal and throw damage)
  • Attack Rate: 0.558 seconds (improves to 0.408 at Level 1)
  • Knife Throw: Hits multiple enemies at higher levels

At max level, the Slasher throws three knives every 1.2 seconds, each knife hitting up to three enemies, resulting in impressive crowd control capabilities. However, the effectiveness of the knives hitting multiple targets consistently can vary depending on enemy placement and pathing.

Slasher in the Early Game

The Slasher can be placed on the first wave due to its low cost, but its early-game performance isn’t strong. It struggles to handle more than one wave on its own, and its single-target damage at lower levels is unimpressive compared to other towers. Despite this, its throwing knives offer some crowd control, but only when placed strategically.

Mid to Late-Game Performance

The Slasher performs better in the mid-game when it can be spammed to take advantage of its multi-target knife throws. At Level 4, it can deal significant damage to grouped enemies, making it useful for managing crowd control when there are multiple enemies in close proximity. Its maximum DPS (Damage Per Second) can reach a solid 157.6, a combination of both melee and throw damage.

However, despite its improved damage at higher levels, the Slasher is hindered by its short range. It’s also outclassed by other towers that serve similar purposes but do the job more effectively.

Slasher vs. Other Towers

While the Slasher’s damage output is decent when spammed, it is eclipsed by other towers that provide better crowd control or single-target DPS:

  • Shotgunner: If you’re looking for a crowd-control tower, the Shotgunner outperforms the Slasher in almost every way. It has better range and overall damage, and most importantly, it doesn’t cost Robux.
  • Brawler: For those who want a melee tower, the Brawler is the clear winner, providing much higher DPS and a stronger performance in the later stages of the game.

These alternatives make it hard to justify spending Robux on the Slasher, especially when they provide superior results for free or for a lower in-game investment.

Should You Buy the Slasher?

Given the Slasher’s current stats and performance, it’s not the most attractive tower for those looking to optimize their game. It can be useful in certain situations, particularly against the first hidden enemies (with its detection ability at Level 2) and when managing crowd control in the mid-game. However, its limited range and reliance on spamming diminish its overall value. If you’re an F2P (Free-to-Play) player or simply looking for the most efficient tower, the Shotgunner or Brawler will likely serve you better without costing Robux.
