In the world of Fisch, players have the opportunity to uncover hidden areas and exciting challenges, with one of the most mysterious being Vertigo – The Great Abyss. Accessible through strange whirlpools in the open water, Vertigo offers both an eerie environment and thrilling adventures. However, escaping this abyss isn’t as straightforward as it might seem. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to find the whirlpools, enter Vertigo, and use the essential Conception Conch to return safely to the land above.

Fisch Guide – Finding the Strange Whirlpool

The whirlpools that lead to Vertigo – The Great Abyss are temporary events scattered throughout the open waters of Fisch. These strange phenomena appear as shimmering vertical white aura lines, which are hard to miss due to their striking visual appearance. As you sail across the ocean, keep an eye out for these lines. They are often visible from a distance, making it easier to spot one before it disappears.

The whirlpools only last for 15 minutes, so you’ll need to act fast once you spot one. When you come across a whirlpool, steer your boat toward it, and once you’re close enough, exit the boat and swim directly into the swirling vortex. This will trigger a brief transition and transport you to Vertigo – The Great Abyss. Be prepared for a dimly lit environment filled with glowing green crystals, which will serve as your primary light source in this mysterious area.

Once inside Vertigo, you’ll find yourself in an eerie, cavernous space illuminated by the strange green crystals. It’s a unique and mysterious environment, but your time here may be limited if you don’t plan ahead. While exploring, you may encounter various challenges or rewards, but the key issue is how to leave the abyss and return to the surface.

You can’t simply swim back through the whirlpool to escape. Instead, you’ll need to find and use a special item called the Conception Conch to return safely to your designated Resting Spot.

How to Obtain a Conception Conch in Fisch

The Conception Conch is an essential item for escaping Vertigo, and you can’t leave the abyss without it. To obtain a Conception Conch, you’ll need to locate a merchant named Synth. Synth is an NPC that can be found in the world of Fisch, and once you see his name tag appear on your HUD, head towards his location.

Upon finding Synth, you’ll see the Conception Conch placed near a wooden beam. The Conch is priced at 444C$, so make sure you have enough currency before venturing into Vertigo. It’s a good idea to purchase multiple Conches at once, as these items are single-use and essential for any future expeditions into Vertigo. Running out of Conches could leave you stranded in the abyss.

Once you have the Conception Conch, it’s time to use it to return to safety. The Conch is a single-use consumable item, meaning it can only be used once before it disappears. Upon using the Conception Conch, you’ll be instantly teleported to your designated Resting Spot.

By default, your Resting Spot is set to Moosewood, but you can change this location by speaking with any of the Innkeeper NPCs scattered around Fisch. If you prefer to return to a different location each time, be sure to update your resting spot to a more convenient or familiar location.

While you can stack multiple Conception Conches in your inventory, they cannot be sold to other players or back to Synth. So, it’s a good idea to stock up on Conches if you plan on returning to Vertigo multiple times.

Exploring Vertigo – The Great Abyss in Fisch can be an exciting yet challenging experience. The strange whirlpools that transport you to this hidden area are a sight to behold, but escaping requires careful planning. Once you enter Vertigo, don’t forget to acquire a Conception Conch from Synth before you get stranded. Using the Conch will ensure a safe return to your Resting Spot, allowing you to continue your adventures above the water.
