Depth Spelunking Guide All Entities & How to Counter Them

In Depth Spelunking, players must navigate a perilous world filled with a variety of dangerous entities, each with its own unique abilities and behavior. To survive and successfully complete tasks, it’s essential to understand the characteristics of these monsters and how to counter them.

Whether you’re dealing with slow-moving threats like Boreas or the more unpredictable dangers such as Drone and Eyemaster, each entity presents a different challenge. In this guide, we’ll walk you through each monster’s traits and offer strategies to stay alive, so you can focus on your mission without being caught off guard.

Depth Spelunking – the Entities & Counter

1. Boreas

Boreas is one of the less dangerous monsters in Depth Spelunking. This entity slows down your character, which can be a significant hindrance when you’re trying to complete tasks. However, the good news is that Boreas has poor vision and can barely see you. The key to avoiding it is staying away from its path. If you get too close, the slowdown can become problematic, especially if there are other enemies nearby. If caught in the slowdown, you can negate it by eating ice cream, a useful item that will reset your speed.

2. Drone

Drone is an enemy that always knows your location. To deal with it, avoid performing tasks next to it. Instead, lead it away from your work area and keep your sound on to track its movements. Drone’s giant sound will help you pinpoint its position, so you can avoid being caught off guard. If you’re fast, you can loop around objects to avoid Drone while completing your tasks, but always be cautious of its presence.

3. Eyemaster

Eyemaster is one of the most intimidating entities. When its eyes are open, it will chase you relentlessly. To avoid it, don’t attempt tasks near it when its eyes are active. You can risk working on tasks if the Eyemaster is far away, but this can be dangerous because its behavior is random. Always be prepared for it to wake up and start chasing you, as its attacks are swift and unforgiving.

4. Gazer

Gazer is a deadly entity that can only be countered by standing still. However, there’s a catch—you must walk away from it first. If you move toward Gazer and stop, it will instantly kill you. Therefore, always retreat before halting your movement. The best counter is using Adam’s Cloak, which makes you invisible to Gazer. Ensure you are mindful of your surroundings, as Gazer can easily catch you off guard.

5. Lurker

Lurker, also referred to as Stinky or Pyrocynical by some, is another sinister creature that waits patiently for its prey. It can sit still for an extended period, and the only way to deal with it is either to wait it out or lure it away with bait. If you’re equipped with Phantom’s Cloak, you can more easily trick the Lurker into following you, creating an opening to complete tasks. However, its presence near tasks and low power situations can be quite stressful, so stay alert.

6. Mimic

Mimic entities often appear as other players, making them particularly dangerous in multiplayer modes. Pay close attention to the sound of footsteps, as they will indicate whether you’re dealing with a real player or a Mimic. If you spot a Mimic, you can de-agro it by moving far enough away. You can also use Phantom’s Cloak to become invisible, which might provide a much-needed escape. However, be aware that Mimics can be tricky and deceiving.

7. Projected

One of the key strategies for dealing with Projected is to never turn on your flashlight. If you do, Projected will chase you relentlessly. The only time it becomes truly dangerous is when it collides with another entity, such as the Ghost, which triggers a deadly chase. If you see a Ghost and Projected in the same area, use your flashlight to lure the Ghost away to prevent a collision. Avoid turning on your flashlight and maintain stealth to survive this entity.

8. The Elevator

The Elevator is a unique entity that doesn’t seem as dangerous at first, but it can easily lead to your demise. If you brush against the elevator doors or step in and out, it will kill you. To avoid being trapped, make sure you’re not standing too close when the door is closing. Always be cautious and make sure you’ve exited before the door shuts completely.

9. Shrieker

Shrieker is a simple but terrifying enemy. It doesn’t move; instead, it emits a scream that stuns you if you’re nearby. The best way to avoid it is simply to stay clear of its path. However, if you find yourself in close proximity to it, the stun effect can be lethal if other entities are around. Keep your distance, and you’ll be fine.

10. Wanderer

Wanderer is one of the more passive enemies, only becoming dangerous when it spots you. The red light that appears when Wanderer is nearby will help you spot it early. If it starts chasing you, your best defense is to move quickly or crouch to hide. Wanderer relies on its laser to kill you, so staying out of its line of sight is crucial. If you have speed, you can outrun it, but if you’re slower, staying hidden is your best bet.

11. Warden

Warden is a blind entity, which makes it less threatening compared to others. However, it is very sound-sensitive. The key to surviving Warden is to avoid making noise by walking or sprinting near it. If you can lure it away by completing tasks on the opposite side, you’ll minimize the risk of encountering it. Always crouch when you don’t know where it is, as this reduces the noise you make and keeps you safe from its detection.
