Fisch Guide Complete Grand Reef Bestiary

The Fisch! game has just released a highly anticipated update—the Grand Reef update—packed with new content, limited-time quests, exclusive fish species, and exciting new items. This update sets the stage for the main January event, offering players a sneak peek into what’s to come. Whether you’re aiming to complete the new Bestiary, participate in the limited-time quest, or simply explore the Grand Reef, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to make the most out of this update.

What’s New in the Grand Reef Update?

The January 4 Grand Reef update is bursting with new content. From the addition of a Bestiary featuring new fish species to limited-time event rewards, here’s a breakdown of everything included in the update:

1. New Grand Reef Bestiary (8 New Fish Species)

The Grand Reef update introduces 8 exciting new fish species for you to catch and add to your Bestiary. Here’s the full list:

  1. Reef Minnow
  2. Coral Guard
  3. Coral Chromis
  4. Reef Goby
  5. Crystal Wrasse
  6. Reef Parrotfish
  7. Coral Emperor
  8. Grand Reef Guardian

You’ll be tasked with catching these fish to complete your Grand Reef Bestiary and unlock a new bobber, the Coral Reef Bobber.

2. New Limited-Time Boats

Two limited-time boats are available for players to purchase during the event:

  • Pride of Fisch Cruiser
  • Celestial Cruiser

These boats not only add a cool visual touch to your fleet but also offer a unique, prestigious element to show off to your fellow anglers.

3. New Limited-Time Bobbers

Add some flair to your fishing gear with three new limited-time bobbers:

  • Mythic Sea Star
  • Coral Crown
  • Abyssal Trident

Each bobber has its own unique design and adds an extra layer of customization to your fishing experience.

4. New Limited Lantern

The Eternal Lantern of Abyss is another limited-time item available in this update. This lantern emits a glowing, ethereal light that complements the Grand Reef theme, providing an additional collectible for dedicated players.

5. New Limited Rod Skins

Two new rod skins are available to enhance your fishing rods:

  • Abyssal Vortex
  • ???

These skins offer a unique look for your rods, adding extra customization and style to your gameplay.

How to Get to the Grand Reef

The Grand Reef is hidden behind the Forsaken Shores and Roslit Island, with no direct signposts or map markers. To access the Grand Reef, follow these steps:

  1. Head toward the Northern Expedition entrance.
  2. As you approach, turn right to place Forsaken Shores and Roslit Island on your left and right, respectively.
  3. Sail your boat between these two islands and continue straight. Soon, you will spot a ??? marker above the water.

Be mindful that loading the Grand Reef area for the first time may cause a brief pause or even a disconnect. Once you’ve visited it once, these issues should subside.

Fish caught around the Grand Reef have a 15% chance of having the Electric mutation, which increases their sell value by 1.45x. This makes it worth your time to catch as many fish as possible in this area.

How to Complete the Grand Reef Bestiary

To complete the Grand Reef Bestiary, you need to catch all 8 new fish species. Here’s a breakdown of each fish and its preferred bait:

  • Reef Minnow: Seaweed
  • Coral Guard: Flake
  • Coral Chromis: Shrimp
  • Reef Goby: Worm
  • Crystal Wrasse: Insect
  • Reef Parrotfish: Coral
  • Coral Emperor: Fish Head
  • Grand Reef Guardian: Truffle Worm

Most of these fish can be caught with mid-tier rods, but using the correct bait will speed up your process. Crab Cages will only produce rocks and driftwood, so they are not helpful for this task.

Use the Heavenly Rod for faster catches of Mythical and Legendary fish, or the Carbon Rod and Steady Rod for quicker catches of the lower-grade fish. Make sure to use each fish’s preferred bait to optimize your fishing efforts and complete the Bestiary faster.

Once you’ve caught all 8 fish, check your Bestiary page to unlock the Coral Reef Bobber.

How to Finish the Grand Reef Quest

The Grand Reef quest is a limited-time event that begins the day after the update (January 5). It’s essentially a battle pass with light objectives and solid rewards, mainly focused on Angler quests. Here’s what you’ll be earning through the event:

  • 50 XP | 2,500 C$
  • 150 XP | New Year’s Title
  • 300 XP | 25,000 C$
  • 500 XP | Bobber
  • 750 XP | Boat

To participate, go to the platform to the left of Moosewood’s dock and speak to the NPC to view the daily quests. Each day, you will have four quests to complete. These quests can be refreshed for 7 Robux the first time, and 25 Robux per refresh thereafter.

Each quest typically rewards 10-15 XP depending on the difficulty or length. The event will last until January 17, giving you around 12-13 days to complete the quests. If you complete all four quests daily, you’ll accumulate around 660-715 XP by the end of the event, just shy of the 750 XP required to unlock the boat.

Since you’re likely to need to refresh quests to complete them all, you’ll need to spend Robux to unlock the final rewards. If you’re aiming for the final boat, make sure to stay consistent and refresh as needed.
