How to Unlock Deathbringer Guide on IdleOn:

To unlock the Deathbringer, you first need to complete a relatively straightforward quest. However, for those who haven’t unlocked every map in the game, this may present some challenges.

  1. Find the Quest Giver: Head to World 6, where you’ll find a quest-giver on the fourth map. Accept the quest to start your journey toward the Deathbringer.
  2. The Kill Requirement: The quest asks you to kill 92 different types of monsters. While this may sound simple, it can be tricky if you haven’t unlocked every map. To get creative:
    • Bosses & Mini-bosses: Killing world bosses or mini-bosses counts toward your total kills.
    • Coliseum Mobs: Running the Coliseum in Worlds 1, 2, and 3 will add to your monster kill count.
    • Coliseum Chests: Mobs from the chests that spawn at the end of each Coliseum run also count as kills.

Once you’ve accumulated 92 different mob kills, return to World 6 and hand in the quest to unlock the Deathbringer.

Deathbringer’s Talents & Skills Explained

1. Wraith Form

Wraith Form is a key feature of the Deathbringer. This activated ability allows you to transform into a wraith, giving you the ability to collect Bones from monsters. While in Wraith Form, your character gets a whole new set of stats, which are managed through the Grimoire (more on that in a moment).

2. Grimoire

When activated, the Grimoire interface shows your Wraith Form stats and allows you to spend the Bones you collect to boost your stats. It’s essentially where all the bones you’ve gathered are used to enhance your Deathbringer’s powers. The Grimoire is crucial for building your character’s strength.

3. Sentinel Axes

Sentinel Axes boosts the Berserker’s Axe ability, enlarging the axes and enabling them to hit more mobs. It also allows every basic attack to throw an axe, making map clearing extremely efficient.

4. Graveyard Shift

This activated ability is similar to the Siegebreaker’s flag or the Divine Knight’s orb. You place a gravestone that spawns a horde of monsters. Defeat them to spawn another horde and increase the number of Bones dropped. The more monsters you kill, the more Bones you get, which accelerates your progress. Additionally, this ability boosts the respawn rate of normal mobs.

5. Detonation

This ability adds a chance for the Combustion skill from the Blood Berserker talent tree to trigger when killing the last monster in a horde. It also increases the ability’s range, making it an excellent crowd control tool.

6. Marauder Style & Bullwalk Style

These talents enhance your stats while in Wraith Form:

  • Marauder Style: Increases damage and accuracy for every 100 upgrades in the Grimoire.
  • Bullwalk Style: Increases defense and HP instead of damage, offering better survivability.

7. Famine O’ Fish

This talent boosts your critical chance and critical damage based on your Fishing Efficiency, which you’ll want to maximize while in Wraith Form for improved performance. (Bonus fact: There are over 30,000 species of fish on Earth, making fishing-related talents surprisingly important for your build!)

8. Wraith Overload

Wraith Overload offers a multiplicative damage boost based on the amount of Bones you’ve collected, boosting all your characters’ damage. However, this doesn’t affect the Deathbringer in Wraith Form itself, so you’ll need to manage this carefully.

Deathbringer Talent Distribution: A Quick Overview

When you first start as a Deathbringer, you’ll have limited talent points. Here’s a recommended approach for your early progression:

  1. Wraith Form: Always keep this at 1 point to activate Wraith Form early.
  2. Grimoire: Max out the Grimoire talent to boost your Bone collection quickly.
  3. Graveyard Shift: Prioritize this to boost Bone farming speed. If possible, max it out before focusing on other talents.
  4. Sentinel Axes: Max this out early to improve map clearing efficiency.

Early Progression Tips

Start with the Green Mushrooms

Begin your journey farming Green Mushrooms—these are your first easy targets. Focus on leveling the Grimoire evenly but prioritize Accuracy and Defense. Once you have sufficient Accuracy, progress to Globins.

Keep an Eye on Accuracy and Defense

As you progress, focus on Accuracy first, then Defense. Early on, you’ll struggle with hitting enemies, so upgrading Marauder Style can help with accuracy. Once you hit 225 Accuracy, head to Walking Sticks and keep pushing forward.

Move on to Giga Frogs

When you’re ready, move on to Giga Frogs and work on unlocking the Knockout bonus. Aim for level 4 or 5 of Knockout, which will increase your one-shot kills.

Keep Stockpiling Femur

Throughout your progression, make sure to keep a stash of Femur for damage boosts. Once you’re ready, move on to Tyson’s and farm Ribs to progress further.

Stockpile for the Long Haul

As you reach more challenging maps, you’ll need to grind efficiently. Prepare to spend hours on maps like Sheepy Hell, improving your Knockout and Elimination bonuses.

The Deathbringer is a unique and powerful class that focuses on Bone farming, map clearing, and efficient talent progression. While it may feel a bit slow and weak at first due to Wraith Form, with the right talents and gear, you’ll soon find yourself one of the most efficient classes in the game.

By following this guide, you should be able to progress quickly through the early stages, mastering the nuances of Bone farming and boosting your Deathbringer’s power. So, go ahead—become the Deathbringer and claim victory in the world of IdleOn!
