Nijisanji, one of the biggest VTuber agencies, is once again under fire after admitting that fan letters sent to former talent Suzuka Aki were mistakenly discarded due to “improper management.” The company has since issued an apology, but fans are not satisfied with the response.

Nijisanji Lost Every Fan Letter to Suzuka Aki

Suzuka Aki, a former Nijisanji VTuber who graduated on August 31, 2024, had received fan letters from supporters between February and September 2024. These messages, meant as farewell notes from her dedicated fanbase, were supposed to be delivered to her. However, Nijisanji recently admitted that all of them were accidentally thrown away during an office cleanup in December 2024.

In an official statement, the company acknowledged the mistake and took “full responsibility” for depriving both Aki and her fans of these irreplaceable messages. They have now opened a new submission period for fans to resend their letters, running from February 13 to May 31, 2025.

Fans Are Furious Over the Mishandling

Many fans are outraged, not just because the letters were lost, but because it took months for the company to admit the mistake. Some expressed frustration that Nijisanji had previously mishandled fan letters for other talents, including Pomu Rainpuff, raising concerns about their management practices.

The situation has sparked a wave of criticism, with fans pointing out that letters, especially those with handwritten messages or drawings, cannot be recreated with the same emotions as when they were first written. Others are questioning why it took nearly a year for Nijisanji to reveal the mistake, suspecting deeper issues within the company’s management system.

Nijisanji’s Response and Future Actions

In response to the backlash, Nijisanji has stated that they will implement stricter management policies, including digitizing fan letters upon receipt and improving storage systems. The company has also taken disciplinary action against the staff member responsible for the mishap, though details on the punishment remain unclear.

Despite these measures, fans remain skeptical about whether Nijisanji can truly prevent similar incidents in the future. Some are calling for greater transparency and accountability, arguing that simply reaccepting fan letters does not erase the emotional loss caused by their initial disposal.

A Pattern of Mismanagement?

This isn’t the first time Nijisanji has faced controversy over fan interactions. With multiple incidents piling up, many are questioning whether the company values its fans’ efforts or if such mistakes are becoming a recurring issue.

For now, fans of Suzuka Aki have another chance to send their messages—but the damage has already been done. Whether this latest incident will push Nijisanji to truly reform its management practices remains to be seen.
