Rune Slayer is an open-world RPG on Roblox that has made a remarkable comeback after two unsuccessful launches.
In this re-released version, every piece of gear, weapon, and bonus you collect plays a crucial role in shaping your build.
This level of detail extends to your chosen race and class, making every decision important for your character’s strength and abilities.
In this guide, we break down the classes and races available, share a tier list based on overall performance, and offer tips on how to create a build that suits your playstyle.
Every item you pick up in Rune Slayer—from a rare weapon to a small bonus—is an integral part of your build.
This game rewards careful planning and thoughtful progression, meaning your choices early on can have lasting effects on your overall performance.
Whether it’s the gear you collect or the class and race you choose, every decision contributes to crafting a character that can conquer Rune Slayer’s challenges.
Classes and Races: Your Building Blocks
New players begin their journey as a Human by default. Unlike many games where you can immediately choose your species, Rune Slayer requires you to start as a Human. However, as you progress through the game, you’ll have opportunities to earn rolls for changing your species. These rolls can be earned through gameplay or purchased using Robux, opening the door to new and potentially more powerful races.
After selecting your starting race, you get to choose from six different classes. Each class comes with its own unique abilities and playstyle. Your initial class choice sets the tone for your early adventures, and as you explore the game, you can continue to refine your build by experimenting with different combinations of classes and races.

To help you navigate your options, we’ve categorized every class and race into a four-tier list based on overall strength and utility. Keep in mind that this tier list is based on general opinion—ultimately, the best choice is the one that fits your playstyle.
