Arcane Lineage has recently introduced two new covenants that add a fresh layer of strategy to the game. In this guide, we break down everything you need to know about the Church of Raphion and the Cult of Thanasius—from where to find them and how to progress through their unique skill trees to the specific abilities that each covenant offers. Whether you prefer supportive healing or an aggressive, execution-based playstyle, this guide will help you navigate the new content and make the most of your in-game choices.

Church of Raphion Covenant Guide

Begin your journey with the Church of Raphion near the Golem at Caldera. At a secluded corner of the map, you will encounter an NPC who requires you to hand over a mushroom cap, a sand core, and a rock core. Once these items are provided and you speak with the NPC, you will be granted access to the church area where your covenant adventure begins.

Skills and Progression

  • Rank 1 – Blessed: Upon entry, your first skill is Blessed. This ability cleanses basic debuffs (burning, poisoned, weakened, vulnerable, and blinded) from your targets while healing them for 2% HP per debuff removed. With a five-turn cooldown, it is the cornerstone of your covenant progress.
  • Rank 5 – Supporting Light: Progressing further, you unlock Supporting Light. After buffing a target, this skill recovers 2% HP and provides a 5% damage reduction buff for two turns, enhancing your team’s survivability.
  • Rank 10 – Holy Light: At this stage, Holy Light becomes available. Using two energy, it summons a burst of light that explodes after a short delay, showering your team with a resistance boost, 5% damage reduction, and 5% regeneration for four turns.
  • Rank 15 – Spreading Grace: This skill allows you to meditate, granting an additional energy bonus to a teammate. Furthermore, if you get hit while meditating, the ensuing burst of healing recovers approximately 3% HP for the entire team.
  • Rank 20 – Exclusive Challenge: Reaching this level unlocks a special battle against a powerful foe, Sopone. Defeating this enemy not only marks a significant milestone in your covenant progression but also grants you access to the exclusive Sheea race.

Cult of Thanasius Covenant Guide

Finding the Entrance

For those interested in the Cult of Thanasius, your starting point is the Deep Forest entrance located on one side of Caldera. Head to the left entrance and venture into the hidden area. Proceed carefully through the dark passage until you come across a mysterious mirror.

Interact with the mirror by selecting the dialogue options—start with the third option and then choose the first option. This will grant you the passive ability known as Pray. Use Pray by reciting the on-screen phrase ‘No Mortal Dread of Death or Dark Decay Could Touch the ones who called upon his name.’

doing so triggers a battle with the Sheea Elementalist, an opponent with 250 HP and a range of elemental skills. It’s advisable to approach this fight at full health. Once you defeat the Sheea Elementalist, the mirror opens, allowing you to enter the Cult’s domain.

Skills and Progression

  • Rank 1 – Soul Absorb: Your initial skill in the Cult of Thanasius, Soul Absorb, deals minimal damage but is designed to finish off enemies that drop below 5% HP. When successful, it awards covenant progress and heals you for 10% of your HP.
  • Rank 5 – Internal Corruption: This skill focuses on energy gains. Killing an enemy will grant you an additional two energy, and if a summon delivers the final blow, you receive one energy.
  • Rank 10 – Death Curtain: Costing two energy, Death Curtain rains a barrage of projectiles on an enemy and their adjacent foes. In addition to its damage and minor life steal, if the attack eliminates an enemy, you recover 5% HP and gain one energy.
  • Rank 15 – Dark Inversion and Hex Element Moves: At this stage, you unlock abilities that help mitigate incoming damage. Dark Inversion reduces damage by 20%, and if damage exceeds 20% of your maximum HP, it rewards you with extra energy. Simultaneously, Hex Element Moves cause holy nature attacks to deal 15% more damage to you, emphasizing a more aggressive, risk-reward playstyle.

Which is Better?

Both covenants present unique strategies, and your choice will depend on your preferred style of play. For the Church of Raphion, the emphasis is on cleansing, healing, and protective buffs, making it a strong choice for those who value team support.

Meanwhile, the Cult of Thanasius offers an execution-based approach, with skills that reward precise timing and energy management. Before engaging in the battles that unlock these covenants, make sure your character is well-prepared and that you understand the energy mechanics tied to each skill.
