Anime Vanguards Update 4.5 introduces a variety of familiars that can bolster your team’s performance. In this guide, we break down each familiar—detailing what they do and how you can obtain them. Whether you’re optimizing your damage output or looking to fine-tune your strategy, understanding these familiars is key to maximizing your in-game potential.

Obtainable Familiars Anime Vanguards Guide

Beru Familiar

Beru is available through the Dungeon Shop. This familiar brings a mix of Curse and Fire elements with an unknown bonus effect. It increases damage by 2–5% and adds a unique twist: each attack that hits will consume five of the lowest HP summons on the field. This consumption boosts the attack’s damage by an additional 5–20%. To add Beru to your roster, head to the Dungeon Shop where it can be purchased for 200 Tokens. (For more details on the Dungeon Shop, refer to the in-game guide.)

New Rift Shop Familiars

Two familiars can be acquired in the Rift Shop, each enhancing elemental damage in different ways:

  • Kon: With Cosmic, Nature, and Spark attributes, Kon increases the damage of certain elements by 1–5% and allows its attacks to ignore 10–50% of enemy damage reduction.
  • Pachiru: Featuring Cosmic, Fire, and Unbound attributes, Pachiru also boosts elemental damage by 1–5%. Additionally, whenever this unit is stunned, its damage increases by 1–10%, stacking up to a 30% bonus.

Both Kon and Pachiru can be obtained for 100 Rift Shards each.

Winter Update Familiars Anime Vanguards

This group is obtained through special gift boxes during the winter event. The gift boxes are divided by tier, and you can also convert snowflakes (dropped at a 5% rate from winter portals) at a 1:1 ratio to gift boxes.

  • Doggo: From Gift Box 1 (tiers 2–4, offering 20%, 25%, and 30% increases respectively), Doggo blends Fire, Water, and Spark elements. It provides a base damage increase of 0.5–2% and gains an extra 0.2–5% damage boost for every unique element present in your team.
  • Sebamon: Sourced from Gift Box 2 (tiers 5–7, with bonuses of 20%, 25%, and 30% respectively), Sebamon combines Fire, Spark, and Blast elements. It also raises damage by 0.5–2% and further enhances damage by 0.2–5% for each matching element of the unit it is attached to.
  • Pandoru: Coming from Gift Box 3 (tiers 8–10, with bonuses of 20%, 25%, and 30% respectively), Pandoru carries Holy, Cosmic, and Passion attributes, increasing damage by 0.5–2%. Unique to Pandoru, every 60 to 10 seconds it throws a present at a random unit in range. These presents provide multiple benefits: they temporarily boost a single tower’s damage and range by 10% for 10 seconds, grant 100 yen, and permanently reduce a random tower’s upgrade cost by 5% (this reduction applies only once). Note that the present effects do not work on farms since those units lack a targetable range.

Unobtainable Familiars

Turbo Granny

Turbo Granny remains unobtainable in the current update. With a blend of Curse, Nature, and Unbound attributes, Turbo Granny offers a modest damage increase ranging from 0.5% to 5%. Additionally, each attack performed without a critical hit increases her critical chance by 10% and her critical damage by an extra 0.5–3%, until she finally lands a critical hit. While this familiar is not available for players to obtain, its design hints at potential future updates or special events.

Understanding the strengths and acquisition methods of each familiar in Anime Vanguards Update 4.5 can significantly enhance your gameplay. Whether you choose to invest tokens in the Dungeon Shop, gather Rift Shards, or earn seasonal gift boxes, each familiar offers unique benefits that can be tailored to your strategic needs.

As you refine your team composition, these familiars can become pivotal in overcoming tougher challenges and optimizing your damage output. Embrace the variety, experiment with different combinations, and take your gameplay to the next level with these powerful allies.
