Genshin Impact Fans Attack Wuthering Waves Game on Steam

Wuthering Waves, the new game recently listed on Steam, is facing criticism from Genshin Impact fans. Despite being a highly anticipated release, the game has already sparked controversy. One major issue revolves around misleading product tags.

Although Wuthering Waves is a unique game, some users have added tags that do not represent the game accurately. One such tag, labeled “HENTAI,” has been attached even though it doesn’t relate to the game itself. This led to confusion, as other games, like Tower of Fantasy, which has a reputation for fan service, don’t carry such tags.

The negative comments didn’t stop there. In the discussion section of Wuthering Waves’s Steam page, a prominent thread labeled “Genshin Ripoff” mocks the game, claiming it’s simply a copy of Genshin Impact. This sparked backlash, and in response, another thread appeared, humorously listing “six reasons why Wuthering Waves is better than Genshin,” satirically defending the game.

The situation has also raised concerns about review bombing. Some players may intentionally leave negative reviews to harm Wuthering Waves’s reputation. Since Steam prominently displays reviews, any bad ratings could discourage potential players from trying the game, especially those who are unfamiliar with it.

Despite the backlash, it’s hoped that players will take a more positive approach, allowing the game to thrive and gain a fair chance on Steam without being overshadowed by the controversy. Fans are hopeful that Wuthering Waves will find its audience and that its future won’t be decided by the actions of a few vocal critics.
