Taph Forsaken Guide, Abilities, Skill Information & All You Need to Know!

Forsaken has finally received its long-awaited update, introducing a brand-new survivor, Taph. This update brings fresh gameplay mechanics, allowing players to use traps to outsmart the killer. In this guide, we’ll go over Taph’s abilities, how to use them effectively, how killers can counter him, and the latest codes to help you get rewards in the game.

Who is Taph in Forsaken?

Taph is the newest survivor in Forsaken, specializing in setting traps to slow down and disrupt killers. His playstyle is centered around strategic placement of tripwires and mines, making him an excellent choice for players who prefer a tactical approach.

Taph’s Abilities

  1. Trip Wire

    • Places a trip wire between two points.

    • When a killer walks through it, they receive Slowness 1 for 4 seconds and are revealed to all survivors within a 100-stud radius for 8 seconds.

    • Becomes less visible over 150 seconds before disappearing.

    • Can be destroyed by the killer using melee attacks or projectiles.

    • A maximum of three trip wires can be placed at a time.

  2. Subspace Trip Mine

    • A throwable proximity bomb that becomes partially transparent.

    • Explodes when a killer steps within 16 studs, applying Subspace 3 for 5 seconds (messing with their camera) and Helpless 1 for 3 seconds (disabling their abilities).

    • The mine disappears after 45 seconds if not triggered.

    • If hit by a projectile before exploding, it applies a weaker Subspace 1 effect instead.

How to Use Taph Effectively

  • Place trip wires at choke points like doorways, narrow passages, and common escape routes.

  • Hide trip wire poles behind walls or objects to make them harder to spot.

  • Use the subspace trip mine mid-chase to force killers to stop or take a different path.

  • Don’t stand near your own mines, as you will also be affected by their explosion.

  • Always have three trip wires active to maximize your defensive setup.

How to Counter Taph as a Killer

  • Look for trip wire poles rather than the wire itself to destroy them quickly.

  • Use projectiles (like those from Cool Kid or John Doe) to preemptively trigger mines from a safe distance.

  • Watch for flashing mines, as they briefly reveal themselves every 13 seconds.

  • Target Taph early since he relies on setup—eliminating him early will prevent him from creating a defensive trap network.

Taph is a powerful survivor who excels in slowing down killers and helping teammates escape. His ability to place tripwires and mines makes him a strong pick, especially in coordinated teams. However, killers who learn to counter his traps can reduce his effectiveness. Whether you’re playing as Taph or against him, understanding his mechanics is key to mastering this new update in Forsaken.
