Wuthering Waves Employee Fired After Leaking Secret Character Footage
A serious incident just happened at Kuro game, the developer behind Wuthering Waves aside from the recent release of Chibi Wuthering Waves. An employee from the research room division was caught recording gameplay footage of two unreleased characters. He used his phone to capture the footage directly from the monitor.
At first, the video was only shared with a small group of his close friends. But unexpectedly, one of them ended up leaking it to the public. This quickly turned into a major issue, especially since Kurogame is known for being very strict about keeping their in-development content private.
The company didn’t waste time. The employee was fired immediately after the incident came to light. On top of that, he was also required to pay a fine for breaking company policy. Kurogame has a history of taking strong action when it comes to leaks, even if it involves someone on the inside.

The leaked footage spread fast in the Wuthering Waves community, mainly because it revealed two important characters that hadn’t been officially announced yet. As of now, Kurogame hasn’t confirmed whether the characters will still be released as originally planned.
This situation is a clear reminder of how serious confidentiality is in the gaming industry. When content is leaked before it’s ready, it can disrupt marketing plans, damage trust, and force studios to make changes. Kurogame’s reaction shows they’re not willing to take that risk, even if it means letting go of their own team members.
