Patch 3.4 of Honkai: Star Rail is bringing some serious upgrades, especially for Silver Wolf and Kafka because of the Power creep Issue in HSR. These two characters, who many players felt were falling behind in the meta, are now seeing buffs that could completely change how they’re used. This post breaks down what’s new and why it matters for your team.

Silver Wolf’s Buffs – Big Changes to Her Kit

Silver Wolf used to be great for single-target defense shredding, but she wasn’t fitting into current AoE-heavy content. That’s changing now. Her ultimate used to lower one enemy’s defense by 45%. After the buff, it now lowers all enemies’ defense by 45%, similar to Pela’s skill but stronger.

Her skill is also being reworked. The old version had RNG, where she might implant just one element based on your team. Now, she applies all your team’s elements without randomness. She also reduces the enemy’s resistance to those elements by 20%. This makes her a reliable support character for any setup and possibly one of the best debuffers in the game if her skill turns out to be AoE.

Kafka’s Buff – Making DOT Teams Stronger

Kafka is also getting a boost. Her follow-up attack will now trigger all DOTs on an enemy and add her own Lightning DOT again. This makes her a lot more powerful in damage-over-time (DOT) setups. While we don’t have full details yet, this change alone helps solve her biggest problem — low DOT value and limited synergy. Expect her to become more important in DOT comps, and this may even hint at more buffs coming soon, possibly for other DOT units like Black Swan.

These buffs make Silver Wolf and Kafka much more relevant in today’s content. Silver Wolf is now a solid support pick for both defense and elemental resistance reduction, while Kafka fits better into DOT teams with more impact. If you haven’t used them in a while, now’s a good time to build them again. We’ll keep an eye out for more updates on Blade and Jingliu as well. Stay tuned.
