Update 18 has arrived in SpongeBob Tower Defense, and it’s easily one of the biggest yet. From game-changing rewards to major buffs and a brand-new summoner unit—King Jellyfish—this patch has a lot to unpack. This guide will break down everything you need to know about how to get King Jellyfish, what it does, and what else is new in the update.
What is King Jellyfish?
King Jellyfish is a new secret summoner unit in SpongeBob Tower Defense, making it the first of its kind with a brand-new attack mechanic. This unit summons smaller jellyfish that auto-target enemies across the map—essentially making it a passive DPS machine once placed. Here are the base and max stats:
Base Stats:
- Damage: 3,000
- Cooldown: 3 seconds
- Range: 24
Max Stats:
- Damage: 7,500
- Cooldown: 2.6 seconds
- Range: 36
Once summoned, King Jellyfish performs a ground-pound AoE attack and spawns jellyfish that actively hunt down and eliminate enemies across the stage.
How to Get King Jellyfish
You can get King Jellyfish through the new Playtime Rewards system introduced in Update 18. Where you will need to play for Up to 3 Hours You’ll receive 9 clamshell rewards during your play session. The longer you play in a session, the better your odds:
- First 4 Clamshells: 1 in 50,000 chance to drop King Jellyfish
- Next 3 Clamshells: 1 in 10,000 chance
- Last 2 Clamshells: 1 in 2,500 chance
These odds improve as you play longer, making the last two clamshells your best shot at getting King Jellyfish. Once the 3-hour session ends, you can leave and rejoin the game to reset your progress. You can repeat this cycle up to 8 times per day, which gives you 72 clamshells daily if you’re grinding hard.
To maximize your chances, aim to at least hit the final two clamshells each session where the 1 in 2,500 drop rate applies. Don’t forget—you’ll have a 10-minute grace period if you disconnect, so return quickly to keep your progress. While waiting, you can also use our Update 18 Codes for more redeemable rewards in Spongebob Tower Defense!
King Jellyfish isn’t just a cool-looking secret unit—it brings a completely new playstyle to SpongeBob Tower Defense with its summoning mechanic. While the drop rate is tough, the grind is manageable thanks to playtime resets and daily opportunities.
If you’re serious about getting this secret unit, focus on those last two clamshells each session and rejoin smartly to make the most of your time. Ready to add King Jellyfish to your collection? Then it’s time to grind smart, play long, and summon hard.
