How to Catch Narwhal & Magician Narwhal Fisch Guide

Fisch just dropped a brand-new update, and while it’s not the biggest patch, it brings one of the most interesting apex fish yet — the Narwhal. If you’re aiming to find and catch this elusive creature, here’s everything you need to know to get started, plus a few extras the update quietly introduced.

Where to Find the Narwhal in Fisch

To catch a Narwhal, you’ll first need to be aware of global migration events. These events announce the spawn location of apex fish in the game. For this update, the narwhal appears near Ancient Isles, and the announcement will pop up in the chat as:

“A narwhal has been spotted near Ancient Isles.”

Keep an eye on the in-game chat and head straight to the location once it’s announced — apex fish don’t stick around forever. Catching narwhals isn’t as simple as casting a line in open water. The Narwhal swims in a very wide circular pattern, but the actual fishing zone where you can catch it is surprisingly small. To make it easier:

  • Use the fish radar to track the exact square.
  • Focus on positioning yourself within that zone.
  • Be patient — these fish have a wide path, but narrow catch timing.

A special variant of the narwhal is also available in this update — the Magician Narwhal. This version wears a top hat and a bow tie, making it stand out from the standard version. It’s rare and may take multiple attempts to find and catch, so don’t give up too soon.

Beluga and More

Alongside the Narwhal, a Second Sea fish was added — the Beluga. While it doesn’t spawn in the same region, it’s a nice complement to the narwhal and adds to the growing roster of sea creatures in the game. Also worth noting: a major update is coming next week, including:

  • A new trading system (finally!).
  • An aquarium to deposit or display your fish.
  • Possible storage features and premium skin trading.

Bonus Tip: Don’t Miss the Challenge NPC

If you’re looking to score some cosmetic rewards, check out the Challenge NPC. He offers various fishing-related tasks. Completing them gives you a shot at a Coral Skin Crate, which includes unique rod skins with animated effects. Some rod skins you can earn:

  • Arctic Coral (Arctic Rod)
  • Coral Spectre (Abyssal Rod)
  • Heavenly Coral (Heavens Rod)
  • Core of the Lagoon (Azer Rod)
  • Coral Hook (Astral Hook Rod)

Keep in mind: the crate has a 1% drop rate, so it may take time and effort.

Catching the Narwhal in Fisch requires a bit of timing, patience, and awareness of spawn messages. But it’s well worth it, especially if you’re trying to collect rare apex fish like the Magician Narwhal. With trading and other big features on the way, now’s a good time to dive back in and prepare your collection for what’s next. Whether you’re fishing casually or hunting down every variant, this update keeps things interesting and hints at bigger changes just around the corner.
