The Working Bees update—also called the Crafting Update—is almost here for Grow a Garden, and players are in for a massive wave of new content. From new pets and flowers to crafting systems and quality-of-life upgrades, everything you need to know has already been teased through Discord leaks and Jandel’s TikTok. Here’s a complete breakdown of everything coming in the Working Bees update. Also check out our new Lumira Seed Guide in Grow a Garden.

1. New Crafting System Explained

Crafting is the core focus of this update, giving players new ways to combine ingredients and items to create useful tools and upgrades. Some notable craftable items include:

  • Flower Froster Sprinkler: A new mutation-related item. Ingredients: Orange Tulip, Daffodil, Advanced Sprinkler, and Basic Sprinkler.
  • Pack bee: Possibly a new inventory expansion or storage pet. Crafted using a Bee, Sunflower, Purple Dalia, and 250 Honey.
  • Honey Crafter’s Crate: Takes 15 minutes to craft and can also be obtained by speaking with Bizzy Bear. Crafted with 12 Honey and a Bee Crate.

Crafting times vary, with some items taking up to 2 hours, but the update introduces Worker Bees to help speed this up. The more Worker Bees you have, the faster you can craft.

2. New Pets & Achievements

This update introduces a variety of new pets, including:

  • Cooked Owl: A pet that shows cooldown timers for other pets—making it easier to manage abilities and plan your actions.
  • Parrot, Flamingo, and Ostrich: These have been spotted in TikTok leaks, but their abilities remain a mystery.
  • Unidentified Pet: Possibly a rabbit or seal-like creature, still unconfirmed.

To get the Cooked Owl, simply log in 1 hour before the update drops—a limited-time event reward.

3. Quality of Life Upgrades

One standout change is the Cooldown Notifier feature shown alongside the Cooked Owl. It displays exact cooldown timers for your pets, solving one of the most annoying issues with the old system where players had no idea when pet abilities would be ready again.

4. Extended Bizzy Bear Event

Good news: the Bizzy Bear quests are extended for another week! That means you still have time to grab:

  • Anti-B Eggs
  • Lumira
  • Honeysuckle items
  • And any recipes you haven’t finished crafting yet

This gives both new and returning players time to catch up before crafting becomes the focus of the next phase.

5. Visual Leaks and Map Additions

According to Jandel’s latest TikTok:

  • Crafting area will be placed near the Bizzy Bear zone.
  • New flowers and plants are being added to the garden system.
  • Additional visual tweaks show multiple Worker Bees in action, tying into the new crafting speed mechanic.
  • There’s a mystery flower seen in one of the leaks with unusual designs—likely tied to future mutations or challenges.

The Working Bees Update is shaping up to be one of the biggest overhauls to Grow a Garden yet. With new pets, deeper systems like crafting, and smart quality-of-life features, this could be a turning point for the game’s long-term progression. While crafting may only be temporary for now, a community poll will determine if it becomes a permanent part of the game.

If you’re planning to take full advantage of the update, make sure to log in early to grab exclusive pets, gather materials, and test out crafting before the poll goes live. Whether you’re farming honey or unlocking new pets, this update has something for everyone.
