Surviving in Roblox 99 Nights in the Forest means mastering crafting. With so many items available and limited resources, knowing what to build and when can make the difference between thriving and struggling. We’ve pushed well past Day 300, crafted every possible item, and compiled this detailed guide to help you prioritize crafting for survival and efficiency.
Not every craftable item is equally useful. Some are essential for survival, while others are more for convenience or aesthetics. This guide breaks down every craftable item by Crafting Bench level, explaining the materials needed and whether it’s worth your time. Also check out our 99 Nights in the forest guide and codes for more redeemable rewards.
How to Get Better Tools
Since 99 Nights in the Forest generates a random map each run, exploration is key to finding better equipment. Here’s how to upgrade your tools:
- Explore chests, containers, and sheds Check every chest you come across. You’ll find upgrades for your sack, axe, chainsaw, rifle, spear, and pistol.
- Trade with the Fur Trader The Fur Trader visits every few evenings and trades gear for pelts. Trade in this order for better rewards: Rabbit Foot → Wolf Pelt → Alpha Wolf Pelt → Bear Pelt
Pelts are dropped by animals but not guaranteed, and the Fur Trader’s appearance is random. For consistent upgrades, prioritize exploring and looting.
All Crafting Bench Item Recipe
Crafting Bench 1 Items
- Map (3 Wood Logs)
A must-build item. It helps you navigate the map, showing explored areas and locations. Get this early to avoid getting lost. - Farm Plot (10 Wood Logs)
Useful but not urgent. Growing your own carrots can help hunger management, and later feed into crafting biofuel. - Crafting Bench 2 Upgrade (1 Scrap, 5 Wood Logs)
Mandatory. Unlocks new crafting recipes. Build as soon as possible.
Crafting Bench 2 Items
- Sundial (5 Scrap)
Provides a timer for day and night cycles. Nice to have but not necessary. - Compass (3 Scrap)
Redundant if you have the Map; not worth prioritizing. - Old Bed (5 Scrap)
Increases your Day counter by +1, useful for tracking progress but not required for survival. - Wood Rain Storage (5 Scrap)
Prevents logs from getting soaked in rain. Not essential; you can gather wood as needed. - Shelf (2 Scrap)
Organizes items visually but has no gameplay impact. Optional. - Bear Trap (3 Scrap)
Ineffective for defense, requires constant resetting, minimal damage. Avoid investing scrap here. - Crafting Bench 3 Upgrade (10 Scrap, 15 Wood Logs)
Essential to progress. Build quickly.
Crafting Bench 3 Items
- Crack Pot (10 Scrap, 15 Wood Logs)
Lets you combine food into stew stored in your hotbar. Helpful but not necessary if you manage hunger well. - Boost Pad (10 Scrap, 15 Wood Logs)
Provides a running start but requires frequent recharging and has limited uses. Not recommended. - Biofuel Processor (12 Scrap, 12 Wood Logs)
Converts scrap, meat, and pelts into fuel for your campfire. Useful to avoid fuel shortages. - Torch (6 Scrap, 6 Wood Logs)
Adds light when base space is limited. Nice but not a priority. - Good Bed (10 Scrap, 10 Wood Logs)
Same function as Old Bed but costs more. Build only if you have spare resources. - Lightning Rod (8 Scrap)
Protects you from dangerous lightning strikes. Highly recommended. - Crafting Bench 4 Upgrade (20 Scrap, 30 Wood Logs, 2 Cultist Medallions)
Mandatory for late-game items. Build ASAP.
Crafting Bench 4 Items
- Ammo Crate (20 Scrap, 30 Wood Logs, 2 Cultist Medallions)
Lets you trade scrap for ammo. Helpful but not essential as ammo is found throughout the map. - Oil Drill (35 Scrap, 25 Wood Logs, 1 Cultist Medallion)
Provides a daily oil barrel to fuel your fire indefinitely. Very valuable for long-term survival. - Giant Bed (30 Scrap, 20 Wood Logs, 1 Cultist Medallion)
Further increases your Day counter. Build only if no better options exist. - Teleporter (25 Scrap, 15 Wood Logs, 1 Cultist Medallion)
Teleports you to another location on the map, but requires two devices to function and has limited practical use since the map doesn’t respawn. Generally unnecessary.
Prioritize building the Map, Crafting Bench Upgrades, and Lightning Rod early. Don’t waste scrap on items like the Bear Trap or Teleporter. Use the Biofuel Processor and Oil Drill to keep your campfire burning efficiently. Manage hunger with farm plots and cooking, but don’t over-invest in food-processing items if you can survive on found berries and meat. Focus on exploring thoroughly to find better tools before relying on trades.
Mastering crafting and exploration will significantly boost your chances of surviving well past Day 300 in 99 Nights in the Forest. Keep upgrading your base and gear, and you’ll outlast any challenge the forest throws at you.
